I installed a fitech go efi kit onto a chevy 350 in my k5 blazer. Im having trouble starting the truck, once its started it runs fine , but its like starting a carbed truck on a really cold day. Lots of cranking to get it fired. It is inconsistent and sometimes will die.

I did not use the fuel command center and instead chose the frame mounted fuel pump kit. The pump is mounted below my fuel cell and the correct distance (not to far from the pickup) from the fuel cell . The pump is grounded per there instructions to bare metal using the bracket that holds the pump. Ive sprayed around the intake checking for vacuum leaks but have found none. I can run and drive the truck at operating temp. Then shut it off , and it will take forever to fire back up like a real bad cold start. Any ideas what can be causing this?

If theres anybody out there. I adjusted my IAC it fluctuated between 1-7 ...not good then it shot up to 258 and high rpms. Fitech says it should be between 1-10. Timing ? Major vacuum leak?

Got a fuel pressure gauge?
Does it bleed off as soon as you key off?
If it does can you block off the return line and it NOT Beed off?
Possibly a fuel pressure regulator.

Ha should help alot when i hook my wire to my ignition 12v while cranking should help it start . Jesus tits, thought i had it in the right spot but it was a little oversight. While cranking over and over the pump would shoot enough gas in a prime shot to eventually get it to fire but confused the hell outta the computer. My bad.

I just installed a fitech system on my Scout II 392. had same issue with cranking and cranking and finally starting, was getting frustrated. Found out the white wire from the fitech needs 12v when key on "and when" cranking. once I got that wire hooked to the right voltage it fires up first turn of the key.

I am running a rebuilt prestolite electronic, (OE). I did not get the fitech that had the timing control so its not hooked up to run off the EFI unit. just vacuum and mechanical advance. The base setting as long as the wires are hooked up should get it running, however you will need to do some fine tuning, its not hard just need to find the instructions online and follow them. the IAC (idle air control) is the big one. once you get it fine tuned it runs like a raped ape. I also used the fuel command module so I could use the mechanical fuel pump and only had to run a vent line back to the tank. I ended up mounting the fuel command center on the firewall on the drivers side of the hood latch. (its pretty big).
