A340/dual cases, driveshafts, power steering box, 300M torsion bars, and Tundra 4.7...

by my rough calculations..by removing the 6cyl and auto/transfercases, putting in the chevy/atlas stuff, removing existing axles and replacing them with a 60/14 bolt combo ive only added aproximately 165lbs...the motor/trans/transfer combo is considerably lighter compared to the stock heavy ass 6cyl and transfer/tranny combo..according to the internet..

 

not to mention most of the frame will be replaced by tube..the frames on these are beef!..which im sure is where a lot of weight comes from..i will weigh the front frame section when i cut it off just foward of front body mount today...same with rear..

 

Judging buy the buggy on the lakebed. At the very least, itlll look badass

1) Are you going to have a cover for the motor similar to an outboard boat or are you going to leave it open?

2) Routing for the exhaust? Up and out or down and under?

technically, in the "buggy" world i mostly serve, these cars ive built are considered rear engine, since the motor faces backwards, at the rear of the car-like most of the 4 seat buggys i build



mid engine, in "my" world is a 2 seat, motor facing foward, in the center of the car set up like these i made...

God that 4.7 sounds awesome in that buggy. UZ motors have such a great sound.
