I purchased this gas hog about a year ago. After driving the box from Chicago to Utah I realized that I had just purchased a Big Black Box! I had one hell of a time trying to pass a semi truck on the freeway and was able to get 8 mpg! By the time I made the trip back I was ready to sell it! I then thought to myself, how about a Duramax? I soon did some searches on the internet and was told by everyone including (GM) that it could not be done! So needless to say the next day I pulled the motor, transmission, and transfercase out of the 2003 H2. I then purchased a Duramax diesel engine and Allison transmission. After 3 months we had the conversion complete! (after many wiring issues) This made the H2 one of the funnest vehicles I have ever owned! I was able to get 23 mpg! I then was asked by GM to see the H2 at the 2004 SEMA show. When the Hummer brand team came out to see what we had done at the show, they were amazed! They told me it could not be done and asked me to start it.(like i pushed it there) I then offered to take them for a ride, the team could not belive that we were riding around Las Vegas in a Duramax powered H2! I really hope after this meeting that we will see more Duramax powered or equivlent vehicles in the near future. I hope you find this article to be of value! If you have any questions please let me know! Thank you, Jeremy.

your a tool. get this shit off of this board..... you guys, alter ego and all you other 40ft tall lift shops are lame.....

why dont you tell the board about how you "blow pitman arms" like you told us at the logan car show 2 years ago?? or explain why your trucks dont have front drive shafts....... a red short bed comes to mind.... and a few others.

or how about the time you spent the night in jail becuase your truck was too tall and some "jack ass" cop had it out for you becuase he could drive his car under your truck?? i can't beleive you honestly thought your truck was safe enough to put on the road WITH OTHER PEOPLE!!! :shaking:

this is an extreme rock crawling web page.

take your boring street trucks off this site. if we wanna see your big truck we will meet you at sema

Speaking of H2's, I was passed by one on Memorial day while I was out trail riding. It was actually on a maintained DIRT road rolling on some chrome 20's........I was amazed that it was off the pavement, H2's are a big pile of crap IMO!

Dont worry!

We will post pics of all tube chassis rock buggy!(under construction) There is no front drive shaft in the last truck posted above at the time the photo was taken! I really do appreciate your comments (it sounds like you guys know it all). I hope to one day have your vast knowledge of the 4wd world! I was simply making a remark about a GM product that could use some improvement! I am sure that your vehicle could be ragged on, but I do not have time for that. I do not hide behind a computer screen and talk shit! You are probably correct, I should have not posted something that did not look like a pile! I have alot of respect for rock crawlers, that is why we are building a all tube chassis 4 seater(kids) and it will be bad ass, yes it will have chrome and custom paint! It does not have to look like shit to work! I guess you just have it or you dont? Its like the say opinions are like ass holes everyone has one and they all stink! But hey this is fun! Thank you again, Jeremy! :grinpimp:

Well i really don't care for the types of trucks you guys build i am interested in the Duramax H2 (i know the guys at H2.com would love to hear about also). It sounds like a great build but i fail to see it on your web page. Do you have more info or a link to a build up?

Are You Blind??????

There is a drive shaft in BOTH trucks and yes they both work! Why dont you read the off road magazine July 2004! There you will see all of the tires spinning! Are you serious??? Maybe if your head was not so far up your ass and you did not live in a double wide you would be able to see the front shafts! LOL I love the common sense here! I guess none of you have ever rotated a front axle to achive the proper angle? WOW this is GREAT! :flipoff2:

and how do you make up for the angle at the t-case. one mall curb with that thing and the joints will snap :flipoff2:

but according to him at the logan car show 2 years ago.....

"ya dude, we blow PITMAN ARMS"

are you kidding?? i wanna see a broken pitman arm..... the damn steering box would rip off the frame

About the cop.

Well, I was only taken to jail because his girl wanted to go for a ride! You know what I am talkin about when your girl is looking at my ride and wishing she was in it and not in yours! LOL Sorry I guess the truth hurts! :p

I was really hoping to get a few more educated comments! :shaking:

Just so you know I am enjoying this!

You should know better than to expect such a thing here. Usually, the only "educated comments" appear in original posts, not replies. Good for you taking the initiative to attempt something that extreme. I'm curious about the drivetrain setup to get that kind of mileage out of that shoe-box shaped truck. Did you use a junkyard engine or a brand new crate motor? Any other mods to the truck?

Thats great, I could drop a Duramax into a ford escort if I wanted to.... if the "Hummer brand team" was that impressed with an engine swap than I now understand why the H2 sucks. I know all about how slow they are. I was stuck behind one towing a small boat 2 weekends ago. I had a 460 and C6 in the back of my 76 chevy (smokey old 350) and seriously had to slow down for him on the hills. That engine/tranny weighed just as much if not more than his little custom-painted-to-match-his-H2 boat

I can apprecieate the time and effort you put into those trucks. But honestly they are worthless for anything other than car shows. If you want a street rig than get a sports car...

Oh and if you want to pimp your stuff on here get a yellow star. No one minds seeing cool rigs and everyone loves tech....but you are not contributing anything with posts like this. When you start working on your tube buggy post up some pics...we would love to see them.
