i havent found any actual numbers or info on wheel strength after recentering H1's.

theyd be going on a 01 ctd 2500 4x4. i also realize the limited sizes of 16.5" tires.

would you trust a professionally done set of rims to pull a 12k gooseneck?

Personally, I'd probably go with a set of wheel spacers instead, just for easy of making it work out of the box.

Id stay with your stock rims. You have better tire choices with the 16"s. Or look into to new aulm wheel there all over the place for dirt cheap now days. And if you want bigger tires. You can get a 315-75-16 or maybe bigger.

I dont think they make a factory truck that uses 16.5 anymore. That tells you something there.

get some nice 17's or 18's and you'll have a much better tire selection. I personally would not run recentered rims on a 20K+ pound set-up running down the road at 70mph... on a trail rig sure, I' might even weld them myself. On a tow rig, wouldn't even think about it. My peace of mind and safety of myself and others, and liability risk is worth more than the $1000 bucks I'd save.

I see you are in MO. I saw a set of h2 takeoffs for sale on craigslist out of joplin for like $200. Throw those on there and a set of 265/70/17 E tires and you are good to go. I know the centers need to be opened up on the 3rd gen rams but not sure about the 2nd gen. just my $.02
