After owning several RRCs and Discos, I decided to go a different route.

This particular truck started out like most rovers end. Neglected, in someones yard, with a 3 mile list of broken things.

I stripped it to a shell and started over.
Most of the interior elements are from a 2002 model.
The engine is a 4.6 that I built with 10.5:1 compression, 02' p38 heads, ported, A crower cam, and cometic gaskets. 7,000 miles in 3 months and I'm still happy.

The front bumper is a RTE wideface from a DII.
The springs are from a D1, RTE 3", Progressives on the rear. with the p38 conversion plates and bs it makes it more like 5" of lift. Bilstein 5100 series shocks front and rear, 14" fronts, 12"s rear.
Tires are 255/85-15 KM2s.

added goodies that I've done. "jarvics heart triple bypass" No more freakin' plastic turd in my cooling system. I'm running a regular Disco1 thermostat now.
air bleed in the heater hose, F250 expansion tank.

4 wheel ETC in a Gems p38. Mostly working, occasionally getting mad at me about something.
blend door motors rebuilt, Audi a6 heater core (flipped!).

The list of ToDos.
Build second battery box. its going where the eas stuff used to be.
build pan hard rods and heavy duty tie rods
install the android board and get it working on the stockie Nav display (that I'll be adding a touch panel over). This will be used for data logging, Network monitoring, sensory display, GPS, as well as getting tied into the factory head unit for music.
Double cardan shafts front and rear.
Armor! sliders, rear bumpers, and skids for the fuel tank, this will be waiting until I've moved into a ware house though.
also going to build new rear radius arms after I get moved in.
redo the bumper brush guard to more match the rover body.
Rear power bus. I have 2GA wire routed to the rear for the hide away amp/sub, I wish to place a 12v rail back there for an inverter, 12v compressor, and a few accessory sockets.
Volvo/Taurus electric fan.
Lightstone bits to finish what I've started on the door cards.
Take the stock rack and actually make it usable for more than a few mall shopping bags.
build a 4hp24 that'll put up with my foot.
4 pin diffs with 4.11 gears. How I have not shattered a 2 pin yet, its beyond me.

Pictures!

Lockers eventually! that is if the 4 wheel etc takes a shit, which it does regularly.

stock case. I have a spare I might crack open to search for weak links though..

 You built your engine in that garden shed looking place with an inch of dirt and dry leaves on the floor?

Nice to see a P38 build. I keep looking at them getting lower and lower in price and in worse and worse condition and I think it would be cool to build one up.

that shop sucked! I'm quite glad I no longer live in Alabama.

I wish I had the bags to keep, the entire system was gone when I bought the truck.

well. I still have the air tank, and the ecu. maybe a few lines. but thats it.

bus bar, battery disconnects and other goodies ordered and should be here friday.

OIl pressure relief valve killed its O-ring and made quite the mess. I never replaced that when I overhauled the engine. Guess it caught up to me now.

Gonna rebuild the rear propshaft and get a few spring retainers made on friday.

I'm thinking about running out to johnson valley this weekend to see how it does as it sits now.

Dual battery setup is done. Most of the rear power bus is installed.
I added some cargo lights to the rear. while I was out camping at the hammers last weekend, I noticed that there is a severe lack of interior light at night.

I've designed some mounts for the front end. I'm going coilovers on the front. Enough with tinkering with the stuff thats there.

Swaybars have been gone forever.

few weekends ago in big bear, CA.

Dropped the left side in a deep rut and shot out a spring, broke the shock.

I have a full size aluminum GM radiator for the thing.

Gonna go with FOA coilovers on it whenever work picks back up. Until then its parked.

I'm looking at fox coils too. Deciding how high up into the engine cavity to mount them and if you cut off the coil spring perch like I am you have to make new upper shock mounts. I've got mine designed on a 16" and stretch the front end more and mounting the bottom coilover mount as close to the knuckle as I can. What size coilovers and and bigger lift etc?

16/18 fronts, 12/14 rears. will be building new rear radius arms, extending fronts. gonna keep the ride height about what it is now.

It also might get a 6.5/dmax.
