A few months ago I ordered an extra tall (new option) 4 seat chassis from Drew @ Goat Built with all of his available options plus a few new additions to his growing parts list. Then recently, Drew mentioned he wanted to build a four seater and race it in this year's new Legends class of the KOH EMC race.
I asked him if he wanted to partner on the build and use my drivetrain and parts and his chassis and expertise to put together a Legends class car that will be my 4 seat recreational wheeler after KOH.
About nine days ago I brought all of my parts out to his shop in Wisconsin and we went over the details of the build. Thanksgiving morning, Drew started putting the chassis together with his well thought out jig system.
There will be a number of videos showing tipe lapse footage of this build. Here is the first one that shows just how easily this chassis goes together since the tubes are all laser cut, marked and even have strategic bolt holes to help jig them together.
DAY 1 Goat Built Legends Class 4 Seater Build - YouTube
This chassis is 3" taller than the stock Goat Built 2 or 4 seater. Both chassis will now have this extra tall option for bigger guys such as myself. I am 6' 4" tall and especially after my accident 2 years ago, I want a really safe roomy chassis to rec wheel with. My kids will be wheeling with me, so safety is a huge priority.
The build will include the following components:
Many folks will ask how Drew plans to get this done in time for KOH and create a quality build that will hit the lakebed running so to speak
Take a look at the precision that goes into building this chassis as well as the pre-made interior and laser cut tubing and you will start to see what set's this chassis apart from any other offering out there.
This build will include a ton of pictures and content and we hope you will enjoy following the process as we continue with the build. Everything you are seeing is in near real time, we aren't sand bagging this at all.
