It is the North Fork Stanislaus River where Rattlesnake Creek flows in. It's an area called Pine Needle Flat, near Dorrington, CA

My son and I headed up to slick rock today to do some wheeling. When we got there, the start of the trail had more snow than I thought it would have. I decided that we would come back later. I do not think the snow would have went very far, but being alone and not having a shovel, I did not want to take a chance. So, my son and I headed down to a local car show. Lot of cool old cars and as we where getting to the end, I found a 1945 Willys. The owner spoke broken English, but he was very nice. He told my son to hop in for a picture. He has compressed air and propane connected to the machine gun, and it makes a lot of noise, but here's a couple pics.

So here's how I mounted my seat.

I had to make new mounting brackets, because I used a floor from a pickup bed as the floor for my rear tub. The mount that came with the seat is in the middle.

I also made a metal plate to act as a washer from under the tub.

finished product

I also made a GPS mount for my cage. I am thinking of using the same idea to make some rifle mounts.

Then I used a 1.75" u bolt to mount it.

Just found a good deal on a new Dana 44 hd spartan locker, for my front axle. It was $100 shipped, off craigslist. I normally do not buy offline over craigslist, but after speaking to the guy on the phone, I feel OK with it. He said its complete and brand new, he just went with bigger axles instead of installing it.

So my great deal on the spartan locker, will not fit my front end. It is for a 44hd, which, I am told that it can not be made to fit a standard 44. I shall keep searching.

How is it different? I thought all 44 were the same and that a HD44 was just a dana 44 with bigger brakes and 8 lugs

Had a change in plans today and after I got off work, I was able to head up to slick rock. There where a lot of rigs out and on the trail. My son and I had a great time, and met some new people, one of which was off the pirate board and recognize my rig. I did not really take any photos, but I did take some video from my windshield. I'll post it when I get home.

I forgot to mention that I got my Ham License today, before we headed out. I should have my call sign within a couple weeks. They said it would be KK6??.

Here is a video from my windshield of the staircase on slick rock, and then there's a clip from the top. There was to many rigs moving around, for me to let my boy video from outside the rig.

That's great. Was the test hard? And did you come up where the yellow toy did?

Sent from AutoGuide.com App
The test was not bad. Out of all they study sites I found, I think this one was the best https://hamstudy.org . It matched the test pretty good.

The yellow toy took a different line in his last 1/4 of the run, the first 3/4 of the run was the same.

I mounted the seat belt / ammo can holder tray, and I also weld some chain links to the rear cage bar for the shoulder straps. I still need to make the locking bar that goes across the top of the ammo cans.

I also installed the surplus heater that I bought. I did need to do a little bit of copper pipe work, but it all fit really well. I used 1/2" pipe and 5/8" heater hose. Under the dash it is to tight to have the stub outs that go through the firewall mounted soild. That is why I had to use the short heater hose coupling pieces.

Through the firewall couplers.

Installed and works great. I need to build a splash gaurd incase the hose were to ever break on the inside. I do not want it to be able to burn anyone.

I had to get the heater mounted so I could make sure I had enough room to mount my stereo. I used the JBL PRV175 marine gauge stereo. It appears to be very well built and it's water proof. I am not crazy about the mounting location, but it is the only spot it would fit with the heater and parking brake bracket installed. I figure a round stereo is probably lower on a thieves want list too! It is nice to be able to play some tunes now. The stereo has blue tooth and a usb drive for music.

I found an old rusty, but still in good shape trailer for $300. It has some rust that I will cut out and fix, but it is very solid and usable as is. It has 5 on 5.5 lugs too, that match my willys. The guy said he has the original rims and I can pick them up this next week.

The trailer is way cool $300.00 is a great deal I love mine. one suggestion do not go with a pintle hook it sounds like someone is banging on your bumper ALL day long with a hammer, plus they bind on articulation, my 5 ton pintle is bent.:shaking: Instead get an orbital hitch, we have them on our RTF FOTR work trailers. A little pricey but well worth the money. Your gonna be lookin' good on the Dusy in September :)
