Well I wish that hub was the only thing I broke.

The radiator decided to crush itself under its own weight, so Im on my 3rd Griffin. I guess I need to redo the way it mounts and support it all the way across the bottom and not just the 2x2 pucks.

On the way home the hood flew up and taco'ed on the cage.

Today I was pulling the jeep off the trailer and cut the front tire. Got to see if I can get it vulcanized tomorrow.

Poor jeep looks very sad in this pic

never worked with fiberglass but will you be able to cut the clean CO holes in the new hood?
gotta cut the sides too for the tube flares. And yes I can cut fiberglass. But I actually think Durham makes them out of ABS plastic now, Im gonna run by there tomorrow and maybe pick one up

meh I dont think so. If I did a TF id do the smoke one to save money on paint, and I like my shit blue. And the Durham hood is a few hundred dollars cheaper than TF, especially since I can pick it up locally and not pay shipping

I think I changed my mind, whats new. It is sounding like the cheapest option right now. That other one for $125 was fawked up. I guess Ill just have to be a little more careful bashing the hood in

thanks for making up my mind on not running a Durham hood. And jeezus Kirby, you decided that since your not running a windshield now that you had to get the hood to meet the cage now? Nothing like some good BS carnage...

Yea BS carnage will always piss ya off :mad3:

What do you mean about the durham hood? Mine will look like a regular one once I cut the hood "flares" off and match the profile of my tubes

I've been back and forth on whether or not I was gonna run Durhams hood for a month or two now, and have decided that I like the old tube fender'd look over the stubby flares of durham's hood. I was just giving you a hard time since it seems like we're making the same mods a couple of days from each other since Bruce machined our links at the same time and they got mounted within a week of one another and Buddy had a durham hood for me before Christmas but I let him sell it off since I was still on the fence. Anywho, good luck with the impromptu rebuild, sucks about the tire for real though, get them to use a skid steer patch when you do it, they're pretty beefy.

yeah.....I still like driving my rig on the street, and tentatively plan on a cross country trip (or atleast cross midwestern states) once an OD 46RH finds its way into my rig post Moab, so that wouldn't work for me. Even with the stubby flares and protective tube outside of that like i'd planned i think I'd be asking for trouble in some states and with the highway patrol.

My Campbell Ent. hood. (cut w/ pins)

That looks nice, but I think Durhams is about $150 less and hes local so Ill probably go with that

Barclay you get yours back together yet? I am going to try and be ready for Morris Mtn, but have to go home next week to help Dad out with some work so Ill be pressed for time. What is the date?

I've got the rear end on the ground, and the front links pretty much done, but I've still got a bunch of odds and ends and a fuel cell to build. Not to mention I've been trying to help Campbell out with the XJ every chance I get so its been going pretty slow. We're tentatively planning a pre-run trip to MM either the second to last or last weekend in Feb. depending on when rigs are ready.
