check engine light problems
I can use some help trying to figure this out. I am getting ready to do some drastic mods to my yj. It has been sitting for about 6 months. I put a new battery in that dies a few days ago due to the ind and the alarm going off. Well I charged it up and went to drive the jeep home and after 1/2 a mile my check engine light came on. It stays on all the way home. then after I shut the jeep off, and restart it the light is not on, not until I reach about 1/2 mile again. I have gone through my chiltons and can not find anything. I have oil in there and radiator fluid, brake fluid, clutch fluid, battery seems to be fine, belts fine. What can set off the check engine light? Oh an all of a sudden I have no air blowing through my heater, not sure if it has anything to do with it. The only other thing that I can think of is that my gas is bad. It has been sitting for about 6months as well. I have never had a check engine light come on with bad gas though. Let me know if this has happened to you guys who let their rigs sit during winter. What do you go through? It is a 95yj 4 cyl. Thanks...
