Does anyone kow if a dt466 long block from a 87 truck will fit a 2000 dt466e. I have a 87 truck that has a good dt466. I have a truck that just took a crap that is a 2000 but it has the dt466e. I need to know if the long blocks are the same? If all the crap wont bold on to the older motor. I'm thinking of put the older motor it with out the electric crap. What do you think?

You're probably going to have to call International on that based on some of the variant models they built from the standard 466 engine as well as generational changes over the decades.

Do keep in mind that if you did go all mechanical you'd have to replace all of your gauges, stuff like your a/c etc. You might as well drive that 87 if you can until you can afford the repairs on the 2000.

I would drive the 87 but its not a rollback. I was thinking use use the sensers from the 2000 that runs the gauges and then run everything off the 87. But anyway!! lol

Has anyone here rebuilded a 2000 dt466e? I khave most of the tools to rebuild it. But what about the wet sleeves hieght? How offen do they need to be surface to the right hieght? Anyone know where to find a pdf on rebuilding it? Any other tools that are a must have?
