I used a 3/4" heim on that exact set up. I ground down the misalignment spacer a bit to fit inside the bracket.

High angle misalignment stainless steel spacers are a necessary component when using heim joints and trying to achieve excessive amounts of travel. Misalignments are measured by the hole size in the heim joint or uniball, bolt size through the center

 

I was told not to use a 5/8" joint for the track bar. I ended up getting right and left hand thread 7/8" heims. Using the misalignment spacers for the 2" bracket and using tapered 1/4" thick washers as spacers for the 1.5" bracket side.
Using a 5/8" bolt thru the misalignment spacers and using a 3/4" bolt thru the heim with the tapered washers. The tapered washers have a 3/4" opening to match the 7/8" heim. Just have to drill the holes in the brackets to match.

Got everything thru ruff stuff. They had tube inserts for a 1" id with the 7/8" heims. I'll post up after it's done.....maybe put up a pic or two if anyone is interested.

No more sloppy bushings on the track bar! This should really help with getting rid of death wobble once and for all. I am also re-building all my RE long arms, etc.

 

What was the reasoning for not using a 5/8's bolt?

 

I was told not to use a 5/8" heim joint for the track bar because of possible breakage. It is apparently just not strong enough... makes sense to me. I am using a 5/8" grade 8 bolt on the side with the misalignment spacers.
