Those are 37" MT/Rs pictured. They are gone, as are the H2 wheels. I now have 40" TSLs and beadlocks. I'm running Yukon chromo shafts front and rear. Rear spindles are bored and I have the D70 1.5" 35 spline shafts. Detoit rear, Lockright front. 5.38 Yukon gears. Warn premuim hubs. Spicer u-joints. I'm not the slightest bit worried about my axles breaking. I'm optimistic that the 4.3 will do fine with those gears and tires. I've got the old CPI 4.3 in there.

No option for 4:1 with the S10 unless you buy a new case. I wish there was! I ditched the stock 233 and put in a manually-shifted 231 from an older S10 that has the wide chain and 6 planetaries and a fixed front output. I'm hoping that and the NV3500 hold up to my abusive nature. The future likely holds a 5.7 Vortec, 4L80E and ???? transfercase.

As far as gears, its my opinion that the ZR2s should have came with 4.10 gears with the stock 31" tire, not 3.73 gears. So if you do some figuring, to get the 4.10/31 equivalent, you need 5.38 with 40s.
Is the bolt pattern on the older 231s the same as the newer 233, Im assuming it will bolt right up minus the linkages and such. Looks like I`ll be switching over the the Chevy scene here shortly. Ive got my 92XJ up for sale, im tired of the half ton full widths under it, plus i want something different since its my second XJ. Bear with me on the all the questions this Chevy stuff is new to me.:grinpimp:

right, but if you want to run a 231 with the 4:1 you have to use the jeep case, then you have to buy an adapter that comes with the new 23 spline transmission output shaft that you has to be installed.....by the time I bought the case, the adapter and had the output shaft put in, I prolly could have found a used atlas or saved up a little more for a Stak.....
I thought there was a few years that used the 6 bolt pattern, but I am not sure.

There is still some things I have to finsh up but here is what I have done so far.
-HPdana44 front with ARB and 4.88 ( I know the 44 is a little weak but Im thinkin about using chromolys, probally just see how it holds up first.)
-Dana 60 rear with ARB and 4.88s
-Lift s10 spings over axel in back
-4" waggy springs up front
-38.5x11 boggers on 16" MT classics
-astro box
-Im putting togather my T-case right now, Im going to put an sye kit and a 231 front output in my stock 233

Here is some of what I still have to do
-hydro assist
-drivelines (which could be a pain in the ass)
-shocks, bumpstops, track bars

My deadline is to have it driveable or even totally finished with in a month cause thats when I go to WYO Tech:D

For your hydro assist I have had real good luck with West Texas Offroad talk to Matt Hodges (owner) 877-833-7464.
For your drivelines talk to Jesse Jaynes (owner) at High Angle Driveline 530-872-5725 .

S10 transfercases are definitely a breed all their own. Sucks.
The s10 transfercase is part of what makes these things great. Real cheap and easy to double, search for my name and 231 doubler. Rugged compared to the heep 231, light and awesome gearing when doubled up. I'm quite fond of the gm 231's. This doubler makes the drive shafts about the perfect length, short enough for good clearance but long enough to work. 2.72 and 7.4:1 aint all so bad of gearing options either.

52" michelins XMLs or XZLs...sometimes, if you are lucky and know where to look, you can get them for about 500 bux for a set.

dude, that looks killer. I like it better than the old skool body you had on there.
