JIMMYS 4X4 COOL GUY 740H.P. MULTI PURPOSE BUILD

OFFROAD EXPO SHOW RIG

I got ask'd once " what would you build for yourself if the $$$ didn't count "
Well watching Shannon, Dermo and Brian whipping around in the single seaters this year has had me thinking maybe it is time, it is on the list for sure. rear mount motor also we are almost done with a front mount single seat now, it's pretty cool.
we have all done the jeep thing, I really love Buggy's.
lets start with the heart, the motor. GEN III - IV for sure. 510 6.0LS2 ???
60's high pinions, oh yea lets through in some rear steer.
Sweet paint job, Airbrushing, powdercoat and custom aniodize all parts.........

something for going fast, crawling, blasted through the sand, jumping and looks super cool when it is not moving at all.

Well we got our chance, but it wont belong to us .................
and the owner made a few changes and add on's

Let's start with the motor ....................

how about a 740H.P. Supercharged LS2 from Turnkey engine in Oceanside Ca.

I know, thats a lot of pony's for a 2-seat buggy. that is what I said, but I was asked about the cool factor. I keep getting these visons of the rigs I see at SEMA, OFFROAD expo and so I said at well over a 100% add on the COOL factor, WHY NOT !!!!!!!!

cyro freezed gears we will see. our race buggy is about 410 H.P. and we use it. are rig before was only about a little over three hundred H.P. and we only broke the front gears falling back on a step climp.

This isn't a comp rig, Driver will be a huge factor ......

we are getting ready to start another build for Crieghton King, Mr. Maxxis and we are going with a Solid axle low pinion 80.
we did consider this, but we chose the Currie housings to be able to lower the chassis down. and we wanted to tie the rear steering in to the bump stop landing perch's and steel have clearance to remove the carrier with a one piece tube welding in, pic's soon should be mok'd up tomorrow.....

that is part reason of 4.56, bigger head on the pinion, run the backlash a little tight.........
we first were going to go with 9" but we knew the ARB's would blow easier than HP60 gear ....

I said the same thing, I'm not really into the chrome and that is way too much motor, but the customer words to me were " make it as show'y as possible and over kill some of the parts 2.0 shocks to 2.5 etc...
but dont loose any of the capabilites in the rocks ....
we have had really good luck in the last few years with our rig's, so I thought if we came as close to the ones that we have been racing, he wont have to use all that power ....

These photos are before we cut and modified the fenders and hood. we bought and used the grille to get an idea, put we will have a production fiberglass grille.
4-piece kit left and right fenders, hood, grille.
we are about 3-months behind on having this set out, but we are getting really close. the steel goes to my body shop gut to fix our waves and grind marks next week and the it goes to the mold maker. hopefully we should have glass back in 3-4 weeks .......
