Pressure washer method to de-dent 2T expansion chamber?

I've got two pipes to remove dents from, which aren't an issue

There's the three most common methods

1. Heat dent, apply air pressure
2. Water and freezer
3. New pipe

Curious to know if anyone in here has tried this method in the vid?

I highly doubt the method would go anywhere near fixing the dent arrowed top right in the pic, but that's an easy one to fix because it's easy to access the back of, using a dolly or two

Anyone used the youtube method?

I'm thinking about it

Been weighing up different ways to do it hydraulically with water, other than using a pressure washer also

I would have never thought of that. Do it!
I'm getting old, can't remember seeing it done this way before:confused:

I have used the heat and air method, you can split them at the weld with the pressure washer method I have heard.
That's exactly what I was wondering too. I'd rather a blemish from heating with a torch with the air method, than a split along a seam using water pressure

Hmmmm

What do do?

I've got about a week up my sleeve before I have to at least fix one pipe

I made caps with exhaust clamps and chunks of a truck mud flap and put a shrader valve from an old inner tube in one of them. Add 30 psi and torch the dent out. IMO less chance of changing the overall shape of the pipe or splitting it. I dont care about discoloration, the pipe is already ****ed by the time its time to fix the dents. There are pics floating around of pipes ruined by the freeze method.

The only dent I'd worry about is the small one by the header flange, and that one would be easy to hammer out. Factory teams used to beat dents into brand new pipes for some free power.

Thanks for the input fellow pbbers. Much appreciated

Think I'll just do the low air pressure and torch method this time around again

Scared to blow a seam or inadvertently change the general shapes

I've been too busy to go and get a new top end, or anything else for it yet

Too many hobbies at once, and too many hours working to pay for them

I'll whack up pics when their done
