So ive searched and searched but cant find any help. I have a 96 mazda b3000 thats getting a d60 up front and a 10.25 in the rear. At the same time im doing a 302 swap and was wondering whats best leaf wise. Should i go to full size 3" leafs or stick with 2.5 and build explorer leaf packs? I have some money to sink into this thing but not much so its gonna be as budget as possible and i dont wanna spend everything i got on leafs. Also what happens spring perch wise when i move them in for the narrower frame? Seems like the diffs gonna be in the way. Its gonna be a straight mud truck not too worried about flex or ride quailty and i have a dd. im looking to sit on 40's any help would be great but please i dont wanna hear how i should go with a 3 or 4 link set up. Its my first truck build and ive helped with a few leaf sprung sas on fullsizes so i wanna stick to what i know for now.

Because it's paired with a 10.25, I'm gonna ASSume you have a matching set from an '86 and up F-350 which means a 36.5" spring pad width, and the perch is cast into the side of the pumpkin, which means there ain't no "when i move them in for the narrower frame". You use the spring pad width on the axle, and you make mounts on the frame rails of the truck to fit. It has been done many times; I'll let you find the details. Might look stupid but most mud trucks do. :flipoff2:

Your other options are more complicated, costly, and/or require more skill than what you possess. You can narrow axles, or do as the above poster suggested and trim the drivers side perch and run radius arms. Good luck.

You have any links? I wish could figure out how to post pics... Every build ive seen looks like everyone dose the normal square stock under the frame rails hangers mouted to that and shackles mounted in the rear on the frame rail. Everyone fails to mention anything about the perches. Later today to mazdas going in the back yard and getting ripped apart i have the axles a m5r2 trans and idk what tcase it is and im getting a 302 soon so this is happening. Thanks for the help man

Yes. 4th pic down.

Ford Ranger Solid Axle Swap Spring Comparisons

You have the right idea, but the perches have to be outboarded from the frame to work. The chebby dudes kinda do the same thing on certain models when they SAS. The front is easy as hell to fab, the rear a little trickier but some more Googlin' and searching on TRS and you can model yours after someone else.

i would run a 2 in lift tib 2wd f150 lift spring out back, and a 2 in lift 85 or so chevy blazer rear spring up front.

custom k member works good.

outrigged mounts obviously

this is stock rear blazer springs up front and modded explorer springs out back on factory 3 in block and 2 in over stock jeep shackles. 42's no problem....most 44's fit as well for mud duty.
