Ive done alot of research on this and im hoping that others with expirence or possible owners can chime in. Im not interested in a 40ft home away from home cock sucker deluxe edition more like a 30ft or so and smaller that i can throw my solid axle blazer into the back of and take off for the weekend with the wife, 2 kids, and dog. Tow rig is a 2006 crewcab longbed duramax that is srw(part of the reason cock sucker deluxe edition is no go due to the weight). I would love to find a used one for $10k or so.
Its been too long since ive weighed my blazer to remember exactly how much it weighed and even at that she is about to gain some weight with 1 ton axles. Going to be ford d60 up front and either 14b or d60 in the rear on 36/37's with wheels that keep it as narrow as possible. Totally fine with having to go monster truck style and put her on some little roller tires for transport if needed.
I have found that the "work and play" toy haulers made by forest river can usaully get away with hauling a rig inside of them. Ive also found that these pretty much start as a enclosed car trailer(forget the name) and forest river just puts some living ammenities into the front of them. I can find new ones here and there but am not having very much luck at all finding used ones within a 600mile radius of me.
Any other toy haulers out there that you guys know of that fit the bill besides the work and plays or building something myself? Sorry not really interested on truck bed camper route nor motor home cuz i cant find a late model gm powered one to save my life. Seems like ford has got all of the mh market, if i could only find one built on a gm chassis with a 6.0 or similar id be all over it.
Thanks
