Fuel Pumps

I'm looking through fuel pumps to see what will work best for my fuel cell. My intake has a return line on it that I do plan on using.

Now I know i'll need 50-60 PSI......but what is my limit? The pump I'm wanting to use is 60-95 PSI. Would this cause issues?

As I understand it, the pressure regulator at the rail drops it to what is needed and returns the excess to the tank. So I don't think that is going to be an issue.

Does anyone have any suggestions to clarify the TCM wiring here? I have a U0101 code I am trying to diagnose. The problem is that the schematic I have does not match my factory harness connector. I don't know if there was a mid year change or if there is something else. Donor was 05 GTO LS2 with 4l60e

Your fuel pressure regulator is on the rail if it has a return. It regulates it to around 58psi nominal. You can have a 100psi input no problem the stock regulator just returns excess to the tank it won't hurt it. Just make sure your pump flows enough to support the motor. IE if modified you will want more flow.

Sorry. That I do not know, you might need an inline regulator between the pump and the OEM reg

Thank you, both.

What doesn't match? GM schematics for the GTO's have a lot of errors in them. 05-06 I believe are the same

I traced all the wires out to the TCM. I found I did not have the GMLAN #6&7 wires from the C-206 connector connected to the C1 #1&2

The 5.3 is replacing an 84 6.2 diesel. I have a pyrometer on the dash right now.

Is there any benefit to knowing the EGTs on a gas engine?

Temp Sensor and Cooling Question

I am trying to finish up my YJ swap and have a few questions.
Swapped in a 2006 5.3 with 4L60E transmission into a 1993 YJ. Drove it for the first time last night and I am still smiling, however a few problems appeared. The temperature gauge would quickly jump very high, and then very low. Not sure if this is due to air pockets in the cooling system, or the gauge. I used a GM temperature sensor mounted in the passenger side block and wired it into the Jeep gauge. Maybe I should have used a Jeep temperature sensor instead of the GM sensor?

I decided to try and burp the cooling system tonight, let it idle for about 15 minutes but I never saw any coolant flowing into the radiator, upper and lower radiator hoses were cool to the touch, however the heater hoses were very hot. When originally filling the system, I pulled a heater hose and filled from there, then I filled through the upper radiator hose, and finally filled from the radiator cap, hoping this would minimize any entrained air.

Any suggestion would be much appreciated.

This guy is local to me and I've used him bunch of times. Never an issue. His warehouse is also really clean and orderly, so it's easy for him to find what you're looking for. ie he does stock what he says he does and not drop ship.

So this was the fix? All better now?

Wayne, at this point it seems that it is fixed. I couldn't drive it last night. I need to tape up and secure all the wiring.
Sweet! :grinpimp:
