the slider looks just like queens. make sure you put the long side down on the new ones.
with my setup/length of the springs i have at the moment i have to mount the slider like brain said. or else it will fall off when the shock is fully expanded.

and thanks for that info on the shims brian. im hoping someone with king experience will chime in. iv heard numerous times that these are king knock offs so i would assume lots of the parts are interchangeable.

you guys have any advice on the valving or the amount of shock oil to add? i know im not gonna get it perfect with valving unless i keep testing it.. but i just want to get it better for hammers.

any feedback on the original valving it had?

Funny I would say long side up, so you can engage the dual rate sooner and so the slider doesn't fall off the shock.
long side up run a greater risk of it the slider splitting from slamming the dual rate stop. im of the opinion that you should run a lower spring 2" longer than the travel of the shock. no way it can fall off.

I've started doing the same with springs. As for the slider splitting, I've personally only seen that with the top and bottom spring binding.

maybe rob some shims from the rebound side and put em on the compression. make the rebound side be a cover plate, 3,2,1 stack
i had thought about that idea to. i just have no idea what im looking at. like is whats there prety soft for the rebound and compression?

and when you mean 3,2,1 what does that mean ?

no i didnt contact ryan yet.

generally on coilover setups, is there a specific amount of oil to add per brand. or is there a procedure that makes it not matter to brand. like fully compress the shock and top it off with oil?

and brian the id is .40" or 10mm, or 25/64" not sure what numbers they go by.

What are these shims made of? Think they would be simple enough to have made or make them yourself?
i have no idea. im gonna assume they are high qualiy steel. kinda like differential shims.

and im pretty sure im gonna be able to get shims. i just either need to see if i can get them from profender (emailing ryan right now) or if they are the same as king. i also could always call polly performance and see if they have any on the shelf that fit those dimensions.

heres a link for a king shim pack.. they look identical. i just wish their website had measurements on them.

make your rebound side (this is the side of the piston that goes in the shock first) be the shim stack 1,3,2,1 and add the rest to the compression side.

thanks a lot, so far that's all i got so unless i get any other arguments or better options in the next few days im gonna go with that.

i also need to try and do some more research. its just hard though. no one wants to give up info on this. which i understand. but it doesn't make the figuring out process simple.
