I have a set of 2" cans, which have not even been used yet. The other day I noticed that oil was leaking out the bottom. This troubled be, in trying to figure out what was wrong I noticed the bottom cap was only hand tight, so I twisted it tight and have not noticed any more oil. I have not charged them yet and am a bit worried about them loosing a charge. I also have thier coil overs and so far I love them (they too have not been charged yet.

One thing with FOA is they seem to take care of you if you have any issues. For the price I thnk they can't be beat.

Give them a try. I know you'll be happy.
As far as air bumps leaking while they are sitting with no charge goes. they all do that. Ask Mustard Dog how got the big oil stain in his seat. I think they were bilstein air bumps.

Those were FOX, and you know how impressed I was with their customer service:shaking:

Eric at Pro Comp made me a set of bumps I've been very happy with.

I put a set of 2.5"x16" on the front a customers 4runner, we charged the shocks, parked the truck in his garage a few months back, now they have no charge and oil on the floor. :shaking: By the time you do all the upgrades, they cost just as much as the other manufactures. I will not run anything except Radflo or Fox, they are works of art compared to FOA. I have a buddy who called them the Harbor Freight of coilovers.

the only difference between FOA's and similiar other shock company's is in the machining of the ACME thread in the housing. Other than that its all the same. Same viton race seals, same plungers, same everything. FOA has been very upfront that they had some quality control issues with some assemblers putting the shocks together. They have since taken care of that problem and have made any issues during that time right.

I can tell you this. I've beaten the tar out of the shocks and I have only lost one spring cup, my fault, and one eyelet on the rear of the shock came loose, my fault in three years on the shocks. I doubt anyone else gets out as much as we do on a daily basis. These shocks will hold up to the abuse.

Foa= first over all

I have had nothing but great experiances with foa, every question is answered fast, shipping is fast and problems handled fast. BTW add up prices betwwen sway, fox, king and then foa. Almost half price and in the event I bend a shaft I can buy a new shock and have this one as a spare for a 1/4 of name brand prices.

FYI, if you are a rock crawler or rock racer that actually takes a shock and tunes it for your rig and your particular type of driving, what you will find out is Kings, Fox, Bilsteins are not worth the price. If you're racing in Baja definately buy the the high dollar shocks. But for our industry, you can't beat FOA. Their a small enough company so their product support in still great. they're not out there to compete with King. They're out there to provide a product that is priced and matched to what we are doing.

Just my opinion.

Have your buddies contacted us about the leaks? I haven't heard from anyone that we haven't taken care of. Have them contact me...I'll make sure there's no issues.

I only had minor issues but after talking with chris I was immediately taken care of. In my build thread I talked about an issue and how I was going to contact foa the next day. Chris called me before I called them. I have had no major issues and nothing of mine leaks.

Would definitely buy again

If you don't have a suspension guy around you, try video taping the rig in the rough stuff and send it to me. I can get an idea on what changes will help.

ive had two sets of coilovers and they are working great...im not a racecar driver, but i daily drive mine and there are no leaks, the are pressurized the same as a year ago, etc, etc...they lack the fancy anodzied parts coating on fox or swayaway/king, etc...but some of us just like the all business look of plain aluminum and billet machined edges. i had 4 sets of fox coilovers in the past and honestly the incredible customer serivce and tech help with FOAs makes a couple of shiny bits worth NOTHING

i fuct up my first set and the mounts bound and caused a leak(the vendor offered to fix/rebuilt and then revalve)...i should get off my ass and send them in as they are collectiong dust in the garage...

I've got them on all 4 corners of my rig and they served me very well right outta the box this entire race season. I'm looking forward to gettin' them even further tuned for next year.

The only problems I've had were self-inflicted (broken upper link bolt in the rear), and Chris hooked me up with a great deal on the parts to get everything back together again. No hassle, just 'here's what you need, I'll send it right out."

Zero complaints so far.

I've had a set of FOA 2" coilovers on the rear of my yota buggy for about a year now, and just bought a second pair for the front. I beat the piss out of my rig and the FOA's have held up better than anything I've ever used before, I plan on trying to tune them a bit better this coming year. Having had to deal with tuning hundreds of dirt bike shocks and forks over the years, I'm extremely impressed with how simple it appears to be to adjust the valving on these. And frankly, I like the look of the plain aluminum of the FOA's, I'm not a fan of the chrome and 'cool' looks of other brands, I need my parts to be simple and strong. Plus their customer service is top notch, they've answered every question I've thrown at them, and you can't beat the prices. I'll never buy from another shock company again.

i liked the shiny anodized peices on all the 'name brand' shocks until they started showing up on all the pavement pounders around here...4 king shocks on each wheel and chrome air bumps, powdercoated axle tubes, driveshafts and rear leafs...it all looks cool(like a fancy sports car does, but jeeeeez....) there is a HUGE shop in town that has a dozen trucks out front everry day on my way home from work...they make stuff look really cool, but its all for show...the drop bracket kits are so tall(14-20'' of lift) that many are there for repairs to bent bracketry just from street driving and towing there rv trailer up the hill and down a gentle fire forestry road

FOA shocks look like they are there to do a job, and to do it good while looking very functional, not pretty and all glittered up for the show truck crowd...as soon as companies get so big and are selling a bazillion products because they find the main stream customer market(the geeks with the tiny weiners and big trucks), they dont have to deal with dustomer service anymore and unless your last name is johnson, degan, leduc, or...you cant get any help, especially with tuning as stated by desrt toy and others. this is where FOA rules
