You will be happy with the 1/4 round on the fender lip, looks much more "finished", makes the fender stronger again and isn't sharp either. I have done that in the past on my SuperDuty. I would fill the top side of the "round" with silicone, bondo or something to keep mud and sand from filling it for you and creating a rust area. If I do get the chance to run 40's, I'll be doing the same thing because the 40's rubbed the fender lip a little.
Thanks, I was thinking of adding some more welding on the back side first, but yes I will take your advice and fill the back side with silicone. And yes the front side will have bondo.

Why staging brake and not full on cutting brakes? If you have a double handle set they can work like a staging brake and will work as true single wheel cutting brakes if you have a rear disconnect/front drive even with a Detroit. But there is the simplicity advantage of the staging brake. Very curious because I just got my double handle cutting brakes in.
Because I "heard" that the sticky 42's will give my stock shafts a run for there money, and when they break they usually take out the Detroit. So since I already have a Full Spool and do not want to run aftermarket rear shafts, there is no reason for me to run a dual handle turning brake. Plus it will save a little bit of time not having to run another line down to the axle. I have no idea when I will install the spool.:shaking:

There is already no room for anything else with that stupid throw that the 465 has. Shit that shifter takes up a bunch of room. Plus the 3 other sifters there. the staging lever will get snaked around the front side of the drivers seat.

Okay I got the residual valve's installed (2lbs F/R). I have one short line left to build to finish the staging brake install. I have to finish painting the skins (doors/fenders). Hopefully I will be done will all this ^ today.

I finished building the brackets for my jacks on the new to me 9.5' Lance. I rebuild the 4 Jacks before installation. The Camper is done, for now.:smokin:

I picked up an enclosed trailer yesterday, 20'. I hope I can get everything to fit. I got it for a smokin deal on it, even if it does not fit I can make a good profit on the re-sell.

I am running out of room fast at my new house:shaking:

We will be going out to Gorman to do some shock tuning and messing around with the blazer. Also, my bro finished installing an H&M long travel kit on a buddies truck that we will be playing with. We are leaning towards Sunday morning for now.

Bigger tires + softer spring rates = Valving being way off??????
We will see.

We will be set up at the 4x4 area. Come by and say hi.

So we took it out to Azuza Cyn today. They (Mike Bishop) had the obstacle coarse opened up. We had a blast, the truck did awesome. The springs were great and the truck was really smooth over the ruff stuff. But the truck had some body roll. I will be reinstalling the rear sway bar. We did do a little rock crawling in the obstacle coarse.

On with the pics.

Oh one more thing we had 30psi in the tires all day :) No tire slippage at all. We took a few lines that no one was able to do. All the clearance of the 42's without having to air down to gain traction. I'm in love with the Stickies, never again will I go to DOT tires.

I'm going to install the rear sway bar and take it to Glamis for Tucky day.

Damn it.. wish i was there.. looking good bud

You and I passed each other on this years Huck Fest at my back yard....Pismo Beach. We waived at each other, but next time I see you around, I am going to flag you down to check out your Blazer in person.
Nice rig dude.

Thanks guys. I'm really happy with the way the truck is working.

Sam, the shocks are working good. I know that the valving needs some attention, which it will get at Glamis. The truck was really smooth over the ruff stuff they have over at Azuza, but nothing there really ruff enough to video on. At Glamis there is a bunch of whooped out runs that we can get some video on (which we will). The truck has noticeably more body roll.

We knew it wasn't going to be perfect because we went to a lighter spring rate while going to a heavier and bigger tire. I think an easy step would be to lower the dual rate stopper down a little. Right now its set at 1" above the slider at ride height. There's a buddy of mine that's cruising out with us over turkey day that's pretty savvy on the go fast stuff. I'm sure we can get it better.

BTW right now the truck is the best its ever been, as far as doing good-to-great in all trains.

A few more. The rocks there are pretty big and the course is really challenging. The last one is my Bro on the right and Evan (a friend and proud owner of my old tow rig "The Tan Truck") :flipoff2:Vach

Wow looks like your spotter did great !! Not a single dent or fucked up line that could have hung up the truck!! :smokin:
Ya Ya.

But you really did to a great job, Thanks. Just don't pat yourself on your back too hard.:flipoff2:

So I got a little more done during the week. I finally got the front to look like what I've had in my head for a few years. It's a 20" Rigid light bar and two Hella driving lights. I also have some rock/brush guards for the hellas, looks like thick chicken wire with 1/2" squares (80's look stuff), what do you guys think should I run them?

I have a fiberglass hood (that I have had for 10 years:shaking:) that I will (or have someone) cut and shape to fit. It will need a few pie cuts and two sections removed. I will keep the front and middle profile. I think it will look :smokin: when I'm done.

Seeing a badass build like this gives a guy motivation to get through the grueling shitty days on the job. The truck is just stellar and really looking amazing these days.

As far as the light guards, I'd say looking a bit cheesy is better than needing to replace one of the lights. Certainly cheaper at the least.
