Got some more parts today. :grinpimp:
I had to mount the wheels/tires. I love them. Although they are alittle large, I would have preferred 33"'s, I think they will look great on the longer jeep.
I also installed the Howell harness today: NICE. They do awesome work.
My fuel tank skid came in today. I purchased it on ebay, and think I got a great deal (item # 170179495558). Now, to modify the fuel system. I ordered the fuel pump and filters, and Jegs makes a neat billet deal that adapts from the chevy high pressure to AN fittings. So, looks like all new braided stainless lines will be installed this weekend.

Sweet rebuild. You will be glad you went with 35"s over the 33"s I bet. I wish I could go straight to 35"s.

In regards to the gas tank/skid.
I was considering modding my stock skid to raise the tank 1" after I put on a 1" BL. When I was looking at that I though about raising it up even higher. However the cross bar over it would get in the way. Since you have the body off you could pretty easily cut off and reweld a new cross bar to allow you to get the gas tank and skid up higher. The major down fall to the LJ IMHO is the over hang in the rear and if you can get the gas tank skid up 2-3" that would help a lot.

Now is the time to do it so you have access all around it. Also if you do it I can see if it will actually work for mine:D

Are you talking about "the crossbar" that is part of the tub and not the frame (the floor support)?
You can do the gas tank skid without a body lift but it hits the tub/floor reinforcement. going higher would require the floor to be chopped.
In the pic right above my post you can see the cross bar the gas tank skid bolts to. I though on my LJ that bar was interfering with raising the tank any further than 1" that I gained from my 1" BL. It appeared that If you relocated that cross bar you could move the tank up 2.5"-3" or so, closer to the floor. I haven't looked at this for a bit and I have not had my tub off so maybe it would not work. Maybe not as big of a deal when your lifted but my stock gas tank skid is pretty used and bowed upwards.

These pictures are great - Really makes it nice with the body off to see all your drive angles and such - looks so much easier than when you're laying on your back with all your jack stands and blocks of wood - freezin my butt off sliding around on a creeper with 3 wheels...uhh..I think I said to much. haha Nice work ..looking forward to the finished product!

Started on my fuel system, so far pretty easy.
I ordered the following from Jegs:
027-15117 which is 5/16 to 6AN adapter (2 of these) and part # 555-100613 (3' section of braided line for 6AN) This allowed me to simply plug my GM return line into the jeep factory feed line. I have my pump assembly out and gutting it now, so fuel will dump straight back into the tank. That has me covered on the return.
Feed line so far: 027-15118 (jegs) which is another billet fitting that has the GM quick connect to 8AN line. I am using a bulk head fitting at the tank, and will use copper line as my pickup, hopefully using the factory "sock" from the end of the factory fuel pump.
I'll be posting pictures of this shortly, I just wanted to post some part #'s while it is fresh in my memory.

Looks great! You might won't to look for some F-body camaro/firebird LS1 exhaust manifolds they are rear dumps and don't kick the flange out as much as the trucks. It looks like the exhaust might hit the frame.

I have a set of trans-am manifolds laying here, but didn't notice that much of a difference. I ordered a set of camaro headers today, we'll see how they fit.
Long tube camaro headers might have to be modified to work as I think the collectors don't point straight back. But post some pictures or the camaros headers in the frame. I being looking for LT's for my 6.0L in the Scout.

made alittle progress today. Ran into a few issues, #1 the manifold are gonna have to go. I have a set of trans am factory manifold sitting here to try tomorrow until the camero headers make it. I have alittle help too, which doesn't help alot. But, they have fun! :D

Got alittle more finished today, I have worked on brackets, to make the stock shifter work. Got it all hooked up today, but ran into a snag. The GM tranny with overdrive has the "OD", "D", "3", "2", "1" on the shifter, but this only has "OD", "3", "2", "1". So, if I pull it all the way down, my tranny is only in 2nd gear.
I also had to modify the transfer mount from advance to clear the tranny oil pan. Had to modify the tranny pan as well, but it turned out pretty nice.

Fantastic! Now I feel guilty for interuptting with my phone call earlier tonight! Great build - makes my little 4.0 swap look rather uh... small time! Hey - those little helpers of yours are on the right track at an early age! Fun times (though certainly distracting!) My 17 and 15 year olds are a huge help in the garage now!

Sorry, my computer crashed, and have not had access for 3 weeks. It is almost finished yes, I'll try and post some more pics very soon. I did find the manifolds though, as asked above, I used Trans-am stock manifolds and had them ceramic coated. The truck manifolds would have hit the frame, but the car manifolds has 2 inches of clearance. I did not get pics with the body off, as they just came back from the coaters, but will try and shoot some pics from below.
