I built the slave cylinder mount before I dropped in the motor, but never put a pic up

hopefully in a month. Seems like every time I make a little progress I end up doing something else.

Forgot to mention, the best part of that serpentine setup is I used the belt off my 4.0 :D

Looks good, but you know that fan still has tons of room. My hits when it rattles around at idle. I was sure that all the full throttlee romps would have clearanced it by now. Get to work so that you can join up with us on the trails some time soon.

tonight I finished the exhaust. Dual 2.25" tubes with 4" magnaflows. I went ahead and heat wrapped it to help keep the engine bay and cab a little cooler, as well as the muffler that sits under the fuel cell (didnt have enough wrap on the driver side to do the muffler). It was a tight fit but its all in there in 2 very long pieces. I was actually able to build it under the jeep and tack it all together, then pull the driver side out and passenger side out and weld it up and heat wrap them. Kinda tricky getting two 10' sections of muffler tube up in there but its all said and done.

why do you say that?

Only having one exhaust "hole" in my rear crossmember was bugging me, but couldnt have duals with the 4.0. I decided it was time to justify them since I'm redoing most everything :D

It is a tight fit for sure. I went with a single in my V8 swap to clear upper control arms and such. I just remember not having much room. I would have much rather had duals with a crossover pipe. But you can crap in one hand and want in the other...

maybe i'm just not seeing it... but why no crossover pipe?

rig looks great, glad it's finally getting a V8 :smokin:

I did a little research on them, and concluded that they are mostly for sound and do not really add much power. In fact, some people say they feel more low end torque without one than with one. I figured I would build the exhaust without it and if I decide I want one to mellow the tone a little I can always add one in there...but I don't see that happening

exhaust looks good. what's the flange off the bottom of the motor mount? skid mount? probably already mentioned it.

Yea it goes to the front of the skid, keeps the skid from bending up and also acts as a motor crossmember once I add the mount onto the passenger side

yeah, what i've heard is that it's really just a sound issue too. just kinda balances it out...

well keep up the good work, i love seeing progress on this thing :smokin:
