like it says.. another 1 ton tj on 40s with many changes as we go..

plans:
hp60 front sterling 10.25 rear
40s
coil overs or ori
long arm and stretch
turbo 5.3 etc

the day I picked it up, had no idea what was instore drivetrain wise. tj has 70k original miles ended up having a advanced adapters sye with drive line, dana 30/35 alloy shafts and Detroit's with 456s

ended up trading the tsl swampers for a set of 35inc toyos

for about the first week I spend cleaning up the last owners fab work and removing stuff, I ended up painting it also

actually took it out on a local trail run and it did great, needed some suspension modifications on the trail This is when I decided that a build was in store.

and so it started, sold the d30/35 sold the toyos sold the 4.5inc lift

searching craigslist I ended up snagging a set of 40inc pro comps and some 17inc wheels that I plan on selling. and on the way to pick up the tires I ended up getting a deal on a ford hp60 ball joint and a sterling 10.25 both with 410s
this was a better deal because my orginal plan was to use a hp44/9inc that I already had

since I had 40s I knew a stretch and highlines/comp cut was in order

and while I was at it I added to the front bumper, I ended up picking up a protools model 32 air over hydro bender

and onto the high lines followed the body line. this is just a idea I don't know if they are going to work in the end

ended up picking up some hummer wheels from a buddy

to how it sets now I cleand up both axles and removed all the parts I can and started cleaning up the frame taking the plasma to all the brackets and removing rear tank to do the comp cut

front brackets removed that cast track arm upper bracket is a pos.

plans are now to order the Rockwell offroad heim joint kit along with all the brackets 3link front 4 rear and 2in .250 dom here locally, I want the over all wheel base between 105 to 110 fuel cell is in order and ori shocks are the plan unless a good deal pops up with coil overs.

a few hours later with the plasma and I have all the brackets off

started fitting the axles under there, I have the rear axle 27.5" off the body mount and the front about even with the ps box, plans are to pick up a 2wd astro van box tomorrow that way I can push forward. I am about 104" wheel base in the picture really shooting for 107-110 and yes comp cut or just cut the finders until they clear the 40s

definitely dig where this is going. I am running 2" coils on my TJ with highlining the hood like you did, fits perfect :)
I wanted to stay coils due to cost and I had everything but the ball joint 60 said other wise not much room on the drivers side axle tube. but it opened the door to a better build

thanks its nice to finally see some interest in the build lol.

got the rear section in and body mounts done and axle placement

since there is not much for axle trusses for the 10.25 I kind of threw one together for set up still need to make it look better and stronger

setting @ 120" wheel base ive been shooting for 107-110 but might work with the added. the astro van box gave me a lot up front. and the flat frame in the rear give me a lot of options. might move the rear up and keep the front out there as much as I can
