Hey guys,

You may know us from our popular JK supercharger program. We introduced the TJ kit as well - but revisited the Electronics - RIPP now offers a killer TJ kit.

The hardware fits - BUT -there is no reflashing of the ECU...

if you are not a vendor and will not talk price, then why did you post..........

i seem to recall this is exactly the same way you started when you first came here.
Yep - But that's the past... this is a reinvented kit.

This is a a little different - we are ready to talk price (JUST FOLLOWING THE RULES) - Monday we will be getting our Vendor status and move forward - When we first came here we hadn't sold 1000 kits on the JK side and spread internationally.

You can find the price online. So that's not a big deal.

What about HP and TQ numbers and how bout MPG's and seat of the pant's feel?

Will this fubar my engine in the long run (100k miles or so)?

How does it act in combination with a stroker?

Can I put it in myself over a weekend?

These are the things I want to read on Pirate...

We are very conservative with our tuning - we are not looking to blow anything up. Our reputation is unmarred in the JK circles and we have more than 20 TJ's out there with our older electronics (piggy back) out there still running strong. Those kits went out to test hardware - so this upgrade is welcome

  • Yes - it can be used in conjunction with a stroker - custom tuning may be required to correct fuel.
  • Yes - its installs very easily - as you can see from the video, it well thought-out

Electronics - nothing flashes those - you have to "chip" them - or go Stand alone electronics...

Most YJ guys just drop a small block in their "older" chassis with a Carburetor - and no tuning needed - SC and TC are really more of a late-model thing.

or even better, a 5.3,6.0, or 6.2 GM, I personally think you get way more bang for your buck going this route over a supercharger. I dont know much about HEMIs but I do know the GM engines are dirt cheap, super easy to swap, easy to tune or get tuned, and have a huge aftermarket support.

If you still have money to blow you can put a ripp or whipple that :D

You really shouldnt have more than $3,500 into a well installed Gen IV swap.

Squeezed a little more out of her -

Our 04 was bought with 83000 miles on it and we sold it with 98000miles - we wheeled it in MOAB and daily drove it with no issues... Centrifugal don't hit the drive train as hard as let-say roots which just pound down real hard out of the hole. Instead they build power in line with the engines stock dynamics...

In the video, you say a plug in MAP sensor? what type? Is it the typicall GM 2BAR unit? Mine failed on me in a year.

Injectors: what size?

A Flowmaster muffler and stock cat? I bet your EGTs going to get kinda high on the HYW driving. I would go with a Magnaflow for best and highest flow. Not to mention, could cut back on high EGTs.
No we make our own plug and play MAP sensor for the TJ's using Motorola electronics - So far 100k miles on JK's - Traveled around the world, 20 below and in the Desert in Dubai...

EGT's climb when your dead lean - we've already logged these with our Piggy back and they were a non-issue - The muffler does not really play into the EGT the closed loop trim does... since we have complete ECU control we monitor O2 values and can correct for those issues...

Yellow Star in place - we needed to call the office to get it going - Great staff BTW.

Yes - we have a plug and play injector

Fuel pressure remains solid at wide open pass'. We had tested this previously when we had our supplemental injection system. That system was really stable too - but it got a bad rap on the earlier models. We have clients that have done over 55000 miles on our GEN1 TJ kits.

good to see you guys are still around. I used to stop in every now and again when I was in my ricer phase.... probably around 2000.
Nice stop by - we have nothing but Jeeps here now ... :D

what about a slightly different shaped intercooler to make oil changes less of a pain. Sometimes I don't have time to do it myself with work and take it in to a lube shop, I don't think they'd want to mess with my intercooler.

Overall I like your kit a lot more than any other available, and the price isn't all that bad for those of us who'd prefer forced induction over a v8 swap.
Thanks,

We signed off on the Intercooler design already and they are in stock - But you can fill right from the front breather too - Just pull it straight up:smokin:

The Jeep in the video is my friend's Jeep. I've seen it in action. We were out wheeling this weekend and a few weeks ago. the Kit seems to be working great on the LJ. He said he's pretty happy with it and it definitely gives a bump in power. He made it through some pretty nasty stuff this weekend, covered in snow and ice. Really helps on the highways, as we were on our way to a trail a few weeks ago and I was leading the convoy of trucks, when my tailgunner radioed me after the EZ pass toll booths and this LJ went through the cash box side. He was already rolling and said that he was showing 70+mph on his speedometer and he said this Jeep passed him and was pulling away like he was backing up!
